The Augmented World Expo (AWE) is hosting its EU edition at the Austria Center Vienna on 29 and 30 October to round off the year. The event is the third of the AWE’s yearly trilogy, including a US and Asia edition, which the group held earlier this year.

At the AWE EU 2024 event, industry leaders are expected to showcase the latest XR innovations that are evolving workplaces today. Participating firms include Meta, Siemens, Audi, ESA, Snap, Niantic, Unity, Pico, and more. The leading firms are also joined by 120 AR/VR/MR companies in a series of keynotes and on the expo floor, centralising innovation for manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, medical, pharmaceutical, and architecture sectors.

2025 onwards is looking to be a paradigm-shifting period for XR, with AR/VR/MR adoption rates growing as immersive technologies become more widely available in various business sectors, thanks to their availability on a range of end devices, notably smartphones.

Moreover, AWE EU 2024 aims to highlight related technology that boosts enterprise-facing XR solutions, including AR cloud, motion capture, and 5G.

AWE US 2024: Every Major Enterprise XR Update

Earlier this year, AWE US 2024 showcased various XR announcements and updates across multiple sectors, including consumer, arts, media, and enterprise. The enterprise sector dominated much of the event, with numerous leaders in enterprise XR attendance. As a result, AWE featured countless news and announcements.

Therefore, visitors should expect similar innovations to be on show at AWE EU in Vienna. For example, SenseGlove has announced the global launch of its new haptic feedback product, the SenseGlove Nova 2. Following its showcase at AWE 2024, the company will officially release the product for approximately €5,999.

HaptX showcased its newly released G1 haptic gloves. Attendees had the chance to experience the product hands-on, highlighting the latest version of the company’s technology designed to provide competitive feedback solutions for VR experiences.

The third provider of haptic feedback solutions is WEART. The company recently introduced a new haptic glove, the TouchDIVER Pro, at AWE 2024. This innovative product features a redesigned system with six additional actuation points, covering all five fingers and the palm. As a result, users of the TouchDIVER Pro can experience improved haptic feedback with greater precision, immersion, and sophistication.

Other innovations include healthcare, AR smart glasses, RT3D XR streaming solutions, and more. With more eye on XR than ever, events like AWE EU 2024 will prove that technology is ready to change the world.
