What has been your business/work highlight of 2024 so far?
Launching Higher Prana Virtual Reality along with my Co-founder, partnering with Pico Enterprise and being nominated in Auggies Award – AWE, Best in Health and Wellness Category.
Who is your business hero and why?
My Father, he has been a Senior Executive and Member of Board at Larsen and Toubro(An Indian multinational engaged in EPC Projects, Hi-Tech Manufacturing and Services. It operates in over 50 countries worldwide.) The reason being, I witnessed his strong work ethic, professionalism, honesty, discipline and hard work that led him to be at the helm of the company. I’ve been inspired by his values of gratitude, servant leadership and supporting his team and peers in their growth.
What’s the biggest business mistake you’ve made and what did you learn from it?
Mistake:
At the start, we struggled to be present in multiple places since we were bootstrapped. We wanted to do it all. However, my Co-founder Akash Sud focused on outsourcing select VR product components, while the majority of our content is created internally.
Learning:
We have learnt how to stay close to the production process without doing it all and know how to smartly delegate some of the production work.
We have learnt to keep the competitive strength in-house, which is our expert trauma sensitive meditation guidance and sound recordings out our professional music studio. Our uniqueness is our domain knowledge of meditation, spatial sound and advanced synthesis.
What’s the most inspirational book you’ve ever read and why?
“Zen and the Art of Saving the Planet” by Thich Nhat Hanh. As it intertwines mindfulness and Zen Buddhist teachings with environmental responsibility, advocating for compassionate action. The book highlights the concept of collective liberation, suggesting that personal transformation through mindful living can catalyse societal and ecological healing, encouraging a community-oriented approach to global change.
What’s the biggest challenge you face in your role in 2024?
Launching a startup and finding time to write my book. (recently got a book contract for my book proposal).
What technology will have the greatest impact on your business this year and why?
Integration of AI, Spatial Computing and Analog Synthesis. Our app will be driving this integration. This will help us in our mission to impact organisations across various sectors with our virtual reality meditation content, designed to improve mental health outcomes, reduce stress, enhance focus, and more.
