Real-world social metaverse Spotselfie has received seven novel continuation patent applications, it revealed this week. Filed in 2016, the intellectual properties (IPs) will expand the company’s patents from its six current ones and five in process.
The latest IP round aims to provide additional features to innovate systems and methodologies powering the platform.
Since its founding, the augmented reality (AR), location-based platform has provided users and individuals with bespoke user experiences (UX).
With them, Spotselfie can also improve and provide social media environments to incubate connections between users and location-based content.
These experiences also introduce major upgrades for Spotselfie’s rapidly-expanding AR metaverse. For digital advertising and real estate to empower enterprises, this shapes the future of their operations.
Ray Shingler, Co-Founder, Vice-President, and Director of Product Development, Spotselfie, said in a statement,
“We are thrilled to announce these seven new filings, which reaffirm our commitment to pushing the boundaries of augmented reality and social media. These continuations reflect our dedication to providing users, corporations, and brands with a truly immersive and interactive AR social experience”
Meta Store Opens for Business(es)
The news comes after Spotselfie opened its Meta Store in February. The new platform allows university students to access web3 tools for opening their own business and advertising services.
Spotselfie’s platform collaborates with universities and their student populations to open digital, location-based stores. It also backs student small and medium enterprises (SMEs), organisations, and social media groups by providing resources and digital adverts.
It also offers 100 feet of circular digital real estate for AR-based stores and allows business owners to keep 100 percent of their profits.
Shingler explained at the time that the platform encouraged the use of digital twins and prepared students for the “future of the Metaverse.” Doing so would “decentralise the larger players in the web3 industry and allow organizations of all sizes to participate in its development.”
More Background on the Spotselfie Platform
In a recent interview, Shingler explained that his platform aimed to tackle challenges linked to major social media platforms. Focusing on privacy and decentralisation, Spotselfie allows user-centric solutions to empower SMEs by safeguarding their data rights.
The veteran mobile platforms chief explained that major social media providers and advertisers “intruded on user privacy.”
Citing data mining, personal information gathering, and social connection mapping, his platform aimed to create a less invasive platform for Web3 advertisers.
The platform leverages its in-house urMojo solution, which offers immersive AR adverts and social metaverse resources. Users can define their content, viewing rights, and match others on the platform without artificial intelligence.
Enterprises can also use the Spotland digital twin system to build social metaverses. Additionally, they can facilitate advertisements via their social contacts and build community outreach with their products.
