Following an incredible launch year in 2022, the XR Awards will be back once again this year, celebrating the movers and shakers in extended reality. This global awards event will be drawing attention to some of the biggest players in the virtual, augmented, and mixed reality space.

Last year, we received an incredible number of applications, from some of the biggest pioneers in the technology landscape. Winners for 2022 included Alex Dzyuba of Lucid Reality Labs, as well as big-name brands like Realwear, Applied VR, Qualcomm and Dynepic.

For 2023, we plan on making the Awards ceremony bigger and better than ever. The fully online event gives everyone a chance to shine, with countless categories to apply for, no travel and accommodation costs, and no table fees.

Applications open on the 17th of February and close on March 31st, so don’t miss your chance to get involved!

The XR Awards Categories for 2023

The XR Awards are an opportunity for transformative vendors in the XR space to showcase their unique values and benefits to a huge global audience. Every year, our panel of expert judges assesses entries based on their ability to improve experience, as well as their ability to innovate and execute new solutions in the transforming market.

This year, our Innovation Awards will include the following:

  • Most Innovative Product
  • Best Virtual Reality Solution
  • Best Augmented Reality Solution
  • Best Mixed Reality Solution
  • Best Metaverse Solution
  • Best Healthcare Solution
  • Best Education & Training Solution
  • Best Manufacturing & Industrial Solution
  • Best Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Solution
  • Best Automotive Solution
  • Best Retail & Ecommerce Solution
  • Best Immersive Collaboration Solution
  • Best Field Service Solution
  • Best Arts & Entertainment Solution

For 2023, we’ll also be introducing a new set of “Rising Star” awards. The individual award will celebrate a single person demonstrating amazing potential in the XR space. Alternatively, the organization award will champion a world-leading company in the XR environment.

These awards will join our “XR Leader of the Year Award”, intended to highlight one of the biggest pioneers in the immersive landscape for 2023.

Our judging panel is once again made up of a huge selection of amazing thought leaders from the XR space, including Amy Peck from Endeavor VR, Amy LaMeyer of the WXR Fund, Dr. Faisal Mushtaq, Sophia Moshasha, Jay Latta, and Nathan Pettyjohn. We’ll also be joined by Sammy Kingston at Virtual umbrella, Amelia Kallman of The Big Reveal, Tom Ffiske from Immersive Wire, and Yanna Zhu of the Boston Consulting Group!

Why Get Involved in the XR Awards 2023?

In 2022, we celebrated some of the most incredible names and companies from the XR space, showcasing their amazing products to our dedicated readers and fans. In 2023, we expect this event to be bigger than ever, drawing more innovators, and viewers than ever before.

This year, there are more categories to apply for (and more opportunities to win). Our XR Awards event gives every innovator and market leader in the immersive landscape a chance to expand their reach and connect with new potential partners and customers. Winners will have a chance to boost brand recognition, through year-round promotion here on XR Today.

Applications officially open on the 17th of February and will close on the 31st March, so now’s the time to start planning your submission! Finalists will be announced on Friday the 5th of May, and we’ll be hosting the official event and announcing our winners on the 25th of May 2023, at 15:00 GMT, via an online stream, so everyone can attend!

Get your applications prepared now for a chance to stand out in 2023’s XR market.
