As collaborative XR technology has gained more traction in the enterprise space, access to the technology is not exactly equitable across all enterprises. Industrial companies that could benefit the most from connecting deskless employees in the field to technical SMEs need a reliable AR solution to move into the future.

Since 2005, Librestream has provided industrial deskless workers with an AR-enabled solution with its Onsight Platform. We have evolved our platform’s capabilities and features based on our time in the field and in heavy industrial settings,” says Charlie Neagoy, Senior VP Customer Success.  Everything about our platform is designed with that industrial deskless worker in mind.   A lot of other platforms have gone the other direction – from the office to the field – and are intended to replicate face-to-face meetings in an office environment.  We’ve designed for the purpose of capturing, contextualizing, and providing the information needed by that industrial worker, at the moment it’s needed.

What began with remote expert technology, has expanded to include digital work instructions, IoT, Natural Language Processing, and AI through an AR-enabled headset.

Industry-Specific Experience Creates Infinite Possibilities

Librestream has been helping their customers make the leap to AR-powered workflows for over 15 years and has a deep understanding of what it takes to be successful.  With over a decade of experience overcoming both technical and organizational behaviour challengesLibrestream is adept at knowing what works from a deployment standpoint. When an organization deploys on the Librestream platform, it’s done in a wholistic manner to address IT and cybersecurity issues, along with instituting business processes and metrics for the technology The idea is to seamlessly merge the expertise of an SME with the skill of a worker to achieve ideal outcomes every time. Onsight is an AR industrial solution designed for work environments with an element of unpredictability and often have extremely low bandwidth. Onsight offers valuable insights through robust data analytics and dashboards to get the right information to the person in the field, at the exact time it’s needed.

We help companies and their workers, who have been working in a particular way for decades, to augment their operations digitally.

An XR Platform that Provides an Answer for Everyone, Every Time

This accessibility to critical data is especially important to industrial companies as the employee landscape is undergoing a major shift. Companies worldwide are facing a demographic-driven change where the most knowledgeable and experienced employees are generally over 55. As they age out of the workplace, decades’ worth of intricate industry knowledge leaves with them.  Onsight’s platform captures, preserves, and projects that knowledge in a system that never retires and is constantly updated.

With changing workforce demographics also comes changing attitudes towards work. Younger workers generally don’t remain in their jobs for their whole careers, with the average job tenure being three to four years. Every time a company onboards a new employee, there is an investment in time to get them to full competence in their role.  However, if an employee leaves after a few years, the ROI of that competency investment is reduced.  Librestream addresses this problem in two ways:  shortening the time-to-competency for new employees, and embedding knowledge in a platform that remains if an employee departs. Additionally, Librestream’s platform allows for innovative just-in-time training so skilled, but not yet experienced, workers can have real-time training in real-world problems.  “Overall, our goal is to offload some of the cognitive load from the industrial worker, enabling them to focus on things we humans do best and let the platform handle the rest, Neagoy adds.

As the technology matures augmented reality software and hardware will become as seamlessly integrated with our jobs as video conferencing. There won’t be much distinction between working with someone standing next to you and someone 1,000 miles away. There won’t be much distinction between talking to a real person and talking to an AI platform.  It will all just be part of standard work. Ultimately the result is faster resolution time, higher quality work, and safer workers.
