Leading developer of enterprise XR solutions, Arvizio, announced its new partnership with Sight Power to deliver powerful augmented reality digital twins to the mining sector.

According to a recent Auganix report, the two companies will deliver a seamless integration of mining data, 3D models, and LiDAR scans between Sight Power’s Digital MineTM platform and Arvizio’s Immerse 3D augmented reality solution.

By combining their technologies, Arvizio and Sight Power deliver one of the most powerful products available on the market today that integrates state-of-the-art mining software with AR to streamline the mining process tenfold.

As well as boosting operational performance, the platform will also significantly cut back on costs, increase efficiency, and improve the safety of dangerous mining environments.

Data Visualization & AR

As digital transformation continues to spread throughout the mining sector, the demand for solutions like AR and data visualization to improve design, planning, operations, resource management, and investor relations processes is stronger than ever.

Sight Power’s Digital Mine is a system for collecting and processing detailed information relating to all operations and work processes in the mining enterprise. When merged with modeling, monitoring, and distributed sensor systems, this information offers a cohesive solution to automate daily, routine operations for geologists, mining engineers, mine surveyors, and other specialists resulting in increased labor productivity and reduction in technical errors.

Arvizio’s Immerse 3D allows 3D models and LiDAR scans, used with Digital Mine, to be visualized in AR. The hybrid-rendering and advanced model optimization capabilities of Immerse 3D are ideal for visualizing LiDAR scans and geological models from mining operations that may cover many miles/kilometers and include multiple layers.

Additionally, Immerse 3D enhances the Sight Power Digital Mine platform by extending the capabilities of Digital Mine to include multi-user, multi-location AR visualization, and collaboration in fully synchronized sessions utilizing web meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Empowering Stakeholders Around The World

Commenting on the partnership, Sergey Reznichenko, CEO at Sight Power, said, “our work with leading mining companies using Digital Mine demonstrated that combining operational technology, monitoring systems, devices, and spatial datasets into a single workflow system, streamlines mining operations at every phase.”

“We are delighted to team with Arvizio to integrate Immerse 3D AR visualization into our workflows, and use augmented reality to empower stakeholders around the world for a more efficient exchange of information, problem-solving, verification of key operations, and safety systems in their mining projects,” he added.

While the mining sector doesn’t appear to have suffered all that much as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, it goes without saying that technology will still play an important role in the industry’s future. As a result, we’re positive partnerships like the one formed between Arvizio and Sight Power will heavily influence how the mining sector evolves over the next decade.
